Enter ... The Dreaded Pick 'Em Up Truck

We all know Kyle is an all-around man's man - die hard sports fanatic, handy-man, outdoorsy ... you get the idea.  But all of that meant nothing unless he got his hands on the quintessential manly accessory - the pick 'em up truck.  That's right!  I married a man that moved me to the country and will be driving me around in a pick-up truck.  What?!?!

I'll fess up ... I'm LOVING living in the country of western Minnesota!  Arkansas was a nice transition away from city life and now, I couldn't imagine living any closer to the madness of downtown Minneapolis.  I love the peace and quiet, the beautiful scenery ... feels like we are on vacation every day ... until the dishes and laundry snap me back to reality.

So, I promise to check back in and let you know how I feel about this truck after I give it the old college try.  I did require that we get the crew cab to ensure there is ample room for passengers in the backseat so I feel good about that.  And, the options Kyle got include heated seats so that will help win me over.

Oh, the life of a city girl in the country ... having to deal with a brand new shiny vehicle that looks a little different than I'm used to.  Life could be much worse.  :)

New Home, New Blog

Thank you for being patient as I took a nice 2 month vacation from blogging!  I promise you, nothing about it felt like a vacation.  Kyle and I have been crazy busy with repairs/upgrades to the new house, shopping for furniture, unpacking (yes, still!) and demanding new jobs.  Now that the snow is finally melting, we feel like we can kick things into high gear to really get settled in.  We are just beginning to see our yard for the first time, and we can tell already that Paisley is going to be in heaven!

We have also mixed in a little fun these first few months back in Minnesota.  We are grateful for all the wonderful friends we have in town.  We have made it a priority to spend time catching up with everyone and have loved every second of it!

A lot has happened these last few months that we won't get a chance to blog about, but wanted to at least capture in writing -- Kyle's sister was our first visitor (thanks, Em!) --  the Packer's won the Superbowl (we had to pinch ourselves a few times!) -- we had to deal with a mice issue in the basement (promise you, they are all gone, or I would have moved out by now!) -- Kyle's parents came to visit and his dad got stuck in a ditch driving up the driveway (you didn't think we'd let that one slide by, did you, Mark?!) -- Our dear friend, Mark, had to endure chest surgery (he's on his way to a full recovery, thank goodness) -- Kyle went on a snowmobiling trip for work (not much work going on there) -- Paisley had successful spay surgery (and didn't seem to notice by the next day) -- my parents came to visit (just missing the start of Spring, sorry Mom and Dad) -- and Kyle jetted off to Vegas (and is there as I type!)

There you go - all caught up!  Looking forward to continuing our journey and sharing our special moments from our new Home Sweet Home in Minnesota.  :)

Figured I'd include a couple Paisley pictures so you can see how big she has gotten.  She is now 6 months old, close to 40 lbs and just as sweet as ever.

Here we are the day we picked her up ...

And here we are about 3 weeks ago trying to mimic the same pose ... notice a difference?!?
